My Letter to the Prime Minister

Students of Apeejay School, Kolkata wrote letters to the Prime Minister expressing their feelings about the Bhopal Gas Tragedy:

To

The Prime Minister of India

7, RCR Delhi

Sir,

Sub: Bhopal Gas Tragedy

Through this letter I would like to express my heartfelt feelings about the victims of the Bhopal Gas tragedy. On the 3rd August 2010 our school had arranged for a workshop called “Being Human” where we were shown a few video clips on the above-mentioned incident.

The clips were totally heart wrenching and disturbing. It sent a chill down my spine as  I saw the images of the deformed bodies of the babies who were born in the December 1984 period. I wouldn’t like to repeat the information because you know it better than me.

What I want you to do is take immediate and effective steps to curb this ongoing situation and to please make sure that this situation does not deteriorate any further.

It is a humble request and we want our grievances to be quenched and answered this time. Another request I would like to make is to help the affected to recuperate as soon as possible by providing them medical facilities for free to the needy and poor people. In the end in hope you would take action against the guilty otherwise the upcoming generation would have to rebel against the present situation of law and order and the government.

You may consider this to be rude but I guess you must have realized by now that we have had enough of this suffering and we are in no mood to compromise any further.

Looking forward to response in earnest.

Thanking you,

Suryansh Sodhani
